Juliet Kaarbo is Professor of International Relations with a Chair in Foreign Policy at the University of Edinburgh. She founded and is co-director of the Scottish Council of Global Affairs. Julie previously held posts at the University of Kansas and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva and was founding co-director of Edinburgh’s Centre for Security Research. Her research focuses on leader personality and decision making, group dynamics, foreign policy analysis and theory, parliaments and parties, and national roles and has appeared in journals such as International Affairs, International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, International Studies Review, Political Psychology, and Foreign Policy Analysis. Her books and co-edited volumes include Coalition Politics and Cabinet Decision Making (2012), Domestic Role Contestation, Foreign Policy, and International Relations (2016) and the Oxford Handbook of Political Executives (2020).
