Berenike Prem is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Bremen, Germany. She holds a PhD from the University of Bremen where she worked in research project on the privatization and internationalization of security. Her research concentrates on the evolving practices of warfare, with a focus on Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) and the role of new military and security technologies. She is author of Private Military and Security Companies as Legitimate Governors: From Barricades to Boardrooms (Routledge, 2020).
