Ehud (Udi) Eiran is a Senior Lecturer (U.S. Associate Professor) and Chair of the Department of International Relations at the University of Haifa, Israel. He held research appointments at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Law School, and UC-Berkeley’s Center of Middle Eastern Studies. Eiran was also a visiting scholar at Stanford’s Department of Political Science. His research explores spatial dimensions of international conflict, with a particular focus on the Middle East and on the maritime domain. He also works on aspects of intelligence studies. His academic work has appeared, among other places, in International Affairs, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Comparative Politics, Terrorism and Political Violence, Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, Intelligence and National Security, The Middle East Journal, Harvard Negotiation Law Review, and the Journal of International Relations and Development. Beyond academia, he has written occasionally for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New York Times, War on the Rocks, Political Violence at a Glance, The Caravan, The Middle East Institute in Washington, and the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore, as well as for the Italian Institute for International Political Studies and the French-based Etudes Marines.
