Tommaso Fonti is a PhD candidate in International Relations and Political Science at the Geneva Graduate Institute. His research examines how geopolitical shocks reshape business–state relations across different supply chains and sectors, creating new winners and losers as trade policy shifts. He previously worked at Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano, where he studied the historical drivers of globalization and deglobalization, and as a research assistant at Bocconi University’s Social Inclusion Lab, where he helped build measures of social inclusion across Milan’s neighborhoods. His training spans political science and economics, with study at Pompeu Fabra, the University of Milan, and Sciences Po. Tommaso also serves on Milan’s Municipio 2 council and chairs its Social Policy and Mobility Committee, which informs ongoing research on urban politics, including work on how pedestrianization policies affect political behavior and housing prices.
